Leadership Advantage 2: Continuous Leader (2 day workshop)

An enhancement to Leadership Advantage 1 (formerly Supervisor Boot Camp 1) that focused on self-awareness, the characteristics of successful leadership, and appreciating differences in the workplace, Leadership Advantage 2 sharpens the emphasis on effective leadership through practice of the skills of assessment, building accountability, and actually creating ways to improve business through analyses of processes and people for measurable success.

You will:

  • Review key concepts from Leadership Advantage 1.
  • Create and practice strategies for observing and analyzing employee performance for coaching to improvement
  • Practice skills of comprehensively orienting new employees to excellence
  • Understand the critical elements of accountability
  • Learn key components of role modeling smart use of time for greater efficiency
  • Use real-work issues to practice all of the steps for continuous improvement, and be prepared to implement the creative resolution in the workplace after the workshop.

Workshop Agenda: Day 1: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

  • Review key concepts from Leadership Advantage 1
  • Understand and practice specific personal characteristics of excellence in lean leadership
  • Learn the distinction between managing and leading, and the importance of utilizing both
  • Develop a clear strategy for orienting new or transferred employees to excellence
  • Practice the tools of observing and analyzing employee performance with the goal of coaching to improvement
  • Conduct a personal assessment of needs for continuing growth
  • Dinner

Day 2: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

  • Review and practice the skills of versatility to enhance the supervisor's workplace relationships and effectiveness
  • Understand the critical elements of accountability for employees and for supervisors
  • Identify time stressors and create strategies for where to focus energies for efficiency and positive role modeling
  • In teams, practice continuous improvement steps to creatively resolve real-life work issues to be implemented in the workplace after the workshop.
  • Review all of the goals the participant has created throughout the two-day workshop, and prepare to report back to manager
